Finally brought her home today!!

Well, the calendar finally got to Friday and in the most humid, hot, crappy Albq. weather I went and signed my name 6 times and rode her home!!! Ahhh!! A little different than the TW200 to say the least!! It was looking like a storm was coming so I took the short long way home. 3 miles. I can't get over what a totally different feeling bike this is to anything I've ridden in the last 35 years. Smooth!!!! Engine and road bumps!! And just a little more peppy than a TW200!! Only went up to 45 in 4th. gear and it was incredible! I really don't foresee me ever going past the 7000 rpm break-in limit. WOW! is all I can say.
I think her name is going to be "Black Mamba"

I just picked up my blue '09 yesterday afternoon and love it - but have found the seat a little more uncomfortable than my '07.

Your story is a lot like mine - I too rode a TW200 (first) and upgraded to an '07 FZ6 last fall. My husband recently took over my '07 so I got to buy an '09!

Like others on the forum, I would recommend putting frame sliders on right away. I had Motovations on the '07 and have another set ordered for the '09. They are on backorder though, so I am just waiting now for their arrival.

Check out ebay for T-REX sliders. I bought a pair for my FZ1 and they are GREAT! Well made and he ships them fast. It was less than $25.00 WITH shipping!

Beautiful black bike...say that 3 times fast! Congrats on the bike and you did right by picking up the T-Rex frame sliders. I had a set on my FZ until I changed them out to the Puig blue frame sliders. I've never heard anything bad about the T-Rex ones.

Congrats on the new bike. :thumbup: It was a tough choice for me whether to get the black or the blue, but I chose the blue. The black is beautiful, tho. I just rolled over 1000mi on mine and trust me, once you get a taste of the power above 8k RPM, you be there more often.

Regarding the break-in period, I simply rode it like I plan to for the rest of the time I'll own it. Fairly conservative around town, with a little hooliganism on the weekends. It only says not to run it above 7k for long period of time, it never says you can't go there for a brief burst or two. :steve:

Thanks, I got them from New Enough. Their part # is CTLSSBBK Cortech Sport Saddlebags. $117.00 to the door. I was a liitle put off at first but I kept farting with the connecting straps abd finally ended up using 4 small bungies to secure the front and back. I really do like them tho.
