7100 isnt that their full syn,i would be dubious for this oil in the first service, but i am probably talking out my a.

Well the first guy I talked to mentioned it was 7100 when I asked, but he was a young bloke.
The workshop manager who is a friend of my dads was the guy who gave it back and he also mentioned it was synth.
The difference in changing gears, engine noise, and normal running was amazing, felt like a totally different bike. Much cleaner and softer shifts, especially moving down.

i now want to change to 7100 after what wolf and dave and mike have all said, now also you, my concern was at so young and not bedded in, jap cars take 10 k's to bed, would imagine bikes would be similar, but as i said was a thought on my behalf and not a known fact with any justification.

I've always had great results with any of the motul products (altho its important to make sure its the right one for your bike) but can't say the same for some of the other cheaper brands.
I'm not 100% sure about running the bike in, I asked the guy today as I left if I could ride normally now (no rev limitations or keeping the bike from sitting in a certain rev range for too long) and he said absolutey.
That being said the bikes generally so powerful anyway that you don't really need to push it past 6krpm unless your enjoying the acceleration, rather than a sedate ride.
I did push it a little on the way home (revving harder before shifts, than actually riding that much faster), but I have a feeling I may have -just- caught a red on the way there because traffic was moving so slow through a turn at an intersection (went from orange to red as I crossed the line), so I'll wait to see if I get a nice letter from the RTA before I feel too carefree.

That will suck, god its so hard not to speed on the bike. i drive all day for a living and no speeding, but once on the bike with wolfs old pipe i feel the mr hyde come out and damn.
Staintune dont make pipes for an FZ6...but you can get staintunes from another bikeand make them fit....there is a guy here in Adelaide that has done it.
as for fully synthetic oil in a new engine, i wouldnt stress, it's gotta be better than that other crap, that makes your engine sound like a ducati.....like someone has thrown a bucket of random bolts in there! that cant be good for your bike!
And as you have said, the difference is like night & day, re smoothness, gear-changing, etc.....so without getting technical, i reckon you have done your engine a massive favour.
My black bike is getting a new lot of 7100 in the next week or so....
