11) Ride to the nearest diner for a garbage plate; you've earned it after all that!

For our friends outside Rochester

There's a few Rochesterians on here - you and I, another fellow (AJ_rider?), 04Fizzer formerly of Fairport, and a new member in Walworth, just for starters. I'm thinking either a group ride...or maybe form a biker gang with our own patches for the backs of our tattered jackets...? ;)

What does everyone recommend for removing bug guts from the fairings? And after that, what do you use to protect it as far as a "wax" goes?

Dunno about the protection after the fact as bugs will happen, but for getting them off, I've found Plexus works like a champ (as it does on my helmet's visor). I spray it on and leave it for a brief soak, then wipe off....pretty much every bit of bug guts comes right off. My ole can of Yamaha spray polish works pretty good too.

Novus Polish # 1 for my hemelt visor and windscreen. Be carefull using Windex or similar products on things made out of polycarbonate, like your visor and windscreen.

One of these days, I will take my bike through one of those brushless carwashes, wearing my rain gear, I'll let you know how it turns out. How bad could it be? You get dried off at the end.
