Home depot has a set of reversible ratcheting wrenches for 50 bucks but has no 11mm. I can't recall using an 11 much, 10 and 12 seem very common. It's also missing 16 and 18.

Or Amazon has a set of 10 complete 10-19mm for 88 dollars.

I'm thinking I could get by with the Husky from Home Depot.

I have a set of these in the standard and I love them but now after working on the FZ I think it's time for a set of metrics.

An 11mm??? I don't think I've ever needed one in 30 years of fiddling with European cars and Japanese bikes. You're right, 10, 12, Germans like 13, 14 and 15, 17 are common. But 11??? I don't have one within three sets of sockets. Hummm...

I've always had very good luck with Craftsman. When Sears has a sale you can get some amazing prices on complete sets of a given tool; sockets, wrenches, screw drivers, etc.

I've found that any odd number is uncommon with american made stuff or tool sets. Especially 7mm allen.

I have a Gedore socket set with 23 sockets in it, ranging from 8mm to 32mm and it includes 11mm. I also have a range of ring/open spanners that includes 11mm. Can't say when last I used them though!

Cool

Thanks everyone.

I think I'm going with the Home Depot brand.

19, 17, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10mm

49.95 reversible seems like a bargain to me

I am a BMW tech by trade...11 is not common, but it is used semi often...the brake bleeder screw on the brake calipers on newer Bimmers is 11mm.

If you're working on japanese stuff never will you use one. But domestic autos love 7mm, 11mm, 13mm, 15mm, 16mm. They are going metric but sticking close to the standard counterparts. Kinda like how a previous post mentioned about wrench making.

you said it for me!!! 11m head bolt holds the intermident shaft conected to the rack and pinion of gm vehicles, and the 7mm head bolts are found holding the stock stereo, just as a couple of quick examples. If your not a mechanic by trade you will probably never need these sizes.

And, for the odd times you may need one, you can get away with a normal wrench (we call 'em spanners down here :rof: ).

Just get a cheapy, as said, you won't need it very much.

:)
By spanners do you mean what we call vise grips? because these things are awesome to have in the vehicle in the middle of nowhere with a breakdown!!!!!!!:rockon:
