Its amazing what you find in your garden shed...the last time this bike ran was 2003..yep over 5 years ago..i put some jump leads on it today..and it fired up after about a minute ..the engine is sweet as a nut ..no knocks or rattles (only done 3K mi..).the frame is bent.forks appently ok and all front end plasics are in pieces..frames are dirt cheap nowerdays..plastics not so cheap but readilly available..but i think this bike is screaming out fto become a street fighter..i got some options for your consideration..what would you do??

If you've got the time, dosh and inclination it will be immensely satisfying fixing it up

I fixed up the KR1S in worse condition, but it didnt need a frame swap

I planned on doing something with this bike later in the year but a possible sale forced my hand..My father inlaw has been nagging me to sell it for spares on ebay..i later found out this was just a ploy to get shot of it..he is gonna let me keep any money made from it (he just wants the space back)

So now were all clear on what the situation (the bike is basically mine for the asking) he asked the bike shop who checked out the frame what is was worth now..they said we should be happy to get £300 in its present condition, father in law thinks i should go for it but at that price i dont think i should

My two freinds who want it are very enthusiastic ..they been nagging me to see the bike all week, but im gonna ask fro something like 750 ..if they take it im happy ..if they walk away im equally happy as i would love to take on this project

PS ..tomorrow im gonna see if theres any way of adapting the 6 pots to the fz

yeahi agree, but im not gonna do anything untill i find out whats happening with the sale..ive just checked ebay..i could get this bike back in its original condition apart from a paint job for less than 500 groats..i might just text him now and make up some excuse not to sell...ill tell him it seized..lol

I went straight to the pics. First thought..... STREET FIGHTER!!!!!

2nd thought...after reading the bent frame.... STREET FIGHTER!!!

IF you have the time and money it would be a really awesome project. I would absolutely love to do something like this. Problem is time and money.....

This is a great chance to get to really learn how to work on a motorcycle if you don't already.

Good luck! (if you decide to street fighter it)

Look at this way.since you have too frame swap anyway it will be real easy to leave off the excess parts in building it into a street fighter!!!you can polish and re-paint ,and have some part's powder coated and what other part's need replacing should be plentiful and cheap on ebay!!! you could build a super cool bike with little $ and some elbow grease!!!!.......you know you want too!!!!!!!!!.........LOL.........GO FOR IT!!!!!!!....who cares if it takes a year or two to finish........it's allready sat for 5 years, and I'm just guessin but i bet alot of forum members have part's you need!!!!!! not to mention what a cool thread it will make.

I said sell it.... buy mods with the cash for the FZ6!

If i get cash ..the wife will prioritise what its spent on :spank:..but yeah the thought has crossed my mind

Track bike.

There is no better learning tool than a bike you don't care about crashing.

I was gonna add this to the poll..but tracks are quite a distance from where i live (lame excuse :) ) and i dont have a trailer or van

This is the most attractive option for me personally..if i did fully restore it i'd be afraid of niglecting the FZ6..the 636 motor is supposed to be a blast but its only 11-12 bhp more so my other concern is the need for 2 similar bikes BUT..

If i streetfighter it ,convention goes out the window :thumbup:it will be cheaper to do and way more fun..and would probably turn more heads..i already got a colour scheme worked out..id like a black frame and metal bits with traditional kwakka green tank and plastics..dunno bout the wheels yet.
maybe the poll wasnt nesecary..im doing a pretty good job of convincing myself :spank:

Now you talking, one mean a$$ streetfighter. Go stelth and eliminate Kawi's name and model, make people figure out what it is. You could say was built from unuptanium parts.

Llandow is 20 miles from Cardiff and Pembrey & Castle Combe are about 60 miles!

I was waiting for "that guy" to mention those exact 2 tracks lol :D

the last time i visited llandow it was a bit of sh1t hole..maybe its different now..anyway..who sait SF's cant go on the track..if (i mean when) its road worthy its an option :D ..when i replied to roadstergal is was thinking maybe getting it faired but not bothering to regester it on the road but obviously if its legal then i can ride ..i just need to find racing leathers to fit my 36-37 inside leg hehe

And here's a Ninja streetfighter I just found on the net

That was the only pic i could find too i..i like what he's done with the ram air intakes..there is one on the home page of a site called vixxn ..but its got a nasty paint scheme

twin lights are ok.but those need to be bigger..I love the ghetto expansion tank..the stock one is big an ugly ..if i wanted a quick fix ,to get it in that condition would be very easilly do-able
