I went into work today feeling crap. My boss sent me home, my wife was not expecting me back. She didn't want me disrupting the children's routine so I had 3 glorious hours in the garage ( I wasn't that ill).
Like most of you every minute of my day is accounted for, I never have time to spend on my bike.

I did the 15T front sprocket mod, very easy 25 minutes, It has rained all day and I was not really knowing what to expect from the loss of 1 tooth. Initially I honestly can't find a difference. I guess it become more evident when really snapping open the throttle. Gear changes are smoother. I suspect this is because the chain was due to be adjusted though.

I also finally installed my fork and swing arm crash bobbins.
This took 2 hours, 40 minutes of that was going to various hardware stores to purchase new hacksaw blades. I had lost th installation instructions so there was a lot of taking of and putting back on until I figure out which spacers were for the front and back.

I also re-calibrated my speedo healer.

i set it to -11.1 as well and when going past the speed markers they say the same speed i show so for me its accurate enough.

Yes, you would want to re-calibrate the speedohealer if you make any gearing changes.

I have mine set to -11.1 right now with the -1 mod as indicated by the speedohealer website, however, I'm thinking its a little too much as I feel like I'm going faster than my indicated speed. What is everyone else setting their speedohealer to?

Unfortunately I dont have a GPS to fully test my settings.

Thanks to these guys who have already done the leg work. I set mine at
-11.1, as I have a GPS I have also checked it out, and it is pretty much bang on.

Cheers

I also moved my external power socket from the ignition housing and placed it under the seat.
On the last UK ride out water got in and my lights went out.
I was riding home with Cloogy as tail gunner and his buddy as lead in atrocious conditions:eek:.

Two questions:

Are the front and rear crash bobbins identical?
Are the bolts 6mm or 8mm?

Hi the actual Black bobbins are not identical.
Two of them have completely flat mating surfaces and two have a 2MM ring around the outer edge of the mating surface.
They come with three spacers which is really weird. Thats why it took me so long to install them. I had lost the instructions and needed to do alot of tightening up and undoing. Fortunately whilst I was out I took the precaution of purchasing some spare locking nuts.
Two spacers included for the back and one for the right front fork. The black bobbin fits exactly over the left leg.
The bolts are 8M (I have no idea what that means).

I am not an expert on this at all mate, maybe its down to stock speedo variance,
After the healer went in on the stock sprockets I went down to -9.1.

So I dunno, there is some strange Ju-ju afoot.

Those look really good. I will be adding them to the wish list. I have to wait on the funds. Did you end up cutting the treaded rod? What kind of fabricating did you do?

Cool man.

I have been considering the down one then up two sprocket change. Its naked and anything over 130 is very uncomfortable anyway, not that I would know from testing or anything. LOL

Those crash bobbins look sweet man.
