Ok, today a good buddy, who also is a riding buddy, and a mechanic, Gary....came around to have a look at my bike.....6 hours later, i know have a straight bike!!!!!!
Gary very expertly bent the Rear set & shift rod back to straight. No visble sign's of stress, and everything is working just as it was before the crash!
Gary also took the back end off, and straightened the rear sub frame, FE, etc, and got everything back to square.
was only minimally twisted, and more than anything, it had moved on the sub frame mounts...the bolts where the subframe connects to the frame were quite loose when we went o untighten them, and the whole subframe had shifted forward, and up in the mounts! Is now all better.
We also took off the Bars, and all the stuff hanging off them, all i need now to be able to ride the bike, is a new set of bars, which i will get and fit tomorrow, along with a new mirror, and a set of new grips....until i can find out at least whether i can buy the Oxford heated grips control box seperately ( was smashed in crash)
Still need to fix the engine case scratch, and fit fork sliders to cover the scuff at bottom of left fork leg. They are still on back order.
On the downside, when we removed the tank bra, we found 5 dents in the tank....none are serious, and at least 2 of them should pop straight back out...no paint was broken, so for now, i am just going to leave the tank bra on the bike, and worry about that stuff a bit later...
Main thing is, i am nearly mobile, thanks to the expertise of a decent buddy, who probably saved me at least $500 in labour costs alone.
Wow, what a day!
