Wolf's crash damage!!!!!!

Ok, have finally got mobile enough to drag my bike out and take some more conclusive photo's of the damage.

Here's the list of items that are damaged.

1. Handlebar bent at 45 degree's on left side.
2. Left Bar end mirror trashed.
3. Oxford Heated Grip controller...trashed.
4. Instrument panel mount cracked.
5. Bottom of left fork leg, scraped....minimal.
6. Left engine cover scraped.....will need replacing.
7. Left Crash Slider well scraped, but not bent.
8. Left Rearset bent in, shifter rod bent against frame, left footpeg, bent up & back........
9. Rear subframe appears to be twisted.....
10. My ego!

Here's some photo's.....In the first photo, you can see how & where the bars bent. The Bar's also moved in the clamps during the impact, got pushed about 15 degree's up and around. Can also see trashed mirror & heated grip controller....can also see that Pazzo Lever is unscathed!

In the second photo, you can see the verey minimal scraping on the bottom of my left fork leg.....if i had my fork sliders, which are still on back order, this would of been avoided.

The third photo shows what the bars look like fromn the front.

This photo shows the rear end of the bike, it is pretty easy to see, all is not well, with the subframe, at the very least......weird thing is, there is not one single scratch on anything on the rear of the bike!!!!

In this last photo, you can see how the Valtermoto rearset is pushed in towards the frame, gear shift rod is bent against the frame.

am well on my way to putting together an evil plan to rebuild the bike to it's former glory, and maybe, even a little bit better.....at least it has "character" now.......Bloody 4WD!

Ok a few more photo's, each one has it's own explanation....

This shot shows the scrapes on the engine cover, and the Oggy Knob...which did it's job amazingly well.......and is easily replaceable, can buy the knob seperate....without having to rebuy the whole shaft, etc.

This shot shows how the instrument panel got knocked about, and the mount is now cracked!

This last shot shows how from the right side, the bike looks like nothing has happened....very lucky!

Hate to see your bike like that Jaimie but man, it could've been so much worse.

And I am even more convinced that you bent that subframe on impact with your right inner thigh...ouch. That explains the lack of scratches and the sore leg.:spank::spank:

+1000 on the 4WD comment.

Can't wait to see you back on the road. We can go and do Lobie road with a flame thrower....lol. that'll sort 'em out.:spank::spank::spank::cheer:

I've looked extensively over the photos. There's good news; the bike isn't as apocalyptic as I thought. You also have the right attitude for the job.

The left fork-peg is not noticeable. A small dab of black matte on the left fork and you'll forget it was even there. Personally, I don't think it adds or detracts from the bike's importance.

The rear cans are completely unscathed? That's a hallelujah and a half! That portion has certainly retained its merit.

The only REAL worry is the rear subframe. You order a new one, possibly even the 07' version and BAM! You've got the most killer FZ6 on the FORUM.

One job at a time. If you try to do everything at once, it may seem overwhelming.

Lol, am busy starting a new mod thread right now......i am doing it all at once, that's just me! 07-08 Sub frame is on the list!!!!! amongst other options for replacement!

As for the fork leg, i wont need to even paint it, as before the bike go's back on the road, i am putting on fork sliders, which will hide it.

Have not decided what i am doing re insurance yet...am worried they will try to write it off, so i am just waiting to see what the workshop manager says after he asses's it for me next wednesday....as it stands, with a set of new bars, and a bit of bending, it could be back on the road tomorrow....might be a good idea to write down a little bit of the damage, so i get the big stuff fixed, and fix the small stuff myself....

An insurance company is likely to want to replace those forks...strange i know, but that's how they work.

And the insurance company will definitely want the Sub Frame replaced.

Fortuneatly, i have left dealing with this, till now, as i did not want to go anywhere with it, till i was out of Hospital and off the Meds!!!!!

It's gonna be interesting.

Yep it could of been way way worse.....frame sliders, and me getting myself side on between car & bike, definitely minimised damage....to the bike....

Still it is actually a bit more extensive than it looks....especially at the back, pipes, number plates, luggage racks...they are all off skew, am hoping it is only bending at the sub frame mounts, and not secondary impact twisting...then lots of mounts could be bent, stressed, etc...

Wont know till i take it the shop....and they start peeling layers back...

Insert a "Stupid Cager" smily face here!!!!

I know some are reluctant to contact their insurance company for fear of rate increases, which is real. But if the 4WD was at fault wouldn't his insurance pay, if he has it?

You may find they total your bike but allow you to buy it back for salvage value which could net you more $ to fix everything and then some?

First of all, thanks for the nice words.

Did think about the right off, and buy back thing....will just have to wait what conspires when it gets assesed.

Get my plaster cast off tomorow.....and i want to ride now....i wanted to ride home the day it happened!

Before rebuilding it, you should take some really careful measurements to ensure that the frame of the bike is not bent. The subframe can be straightened or replaced. The frame is another story entirely.

I didnt realize that you and the bike took such a tumble but considering you are very upbeat so good on ya fella :thumbup:.
The 3rd pic (well the left side handle bar anyway)reminds me of a mates old Yamaha RD250 he had with dropped handle bars, why not knock the right hand side down and give it a try you never know you might like the ride position

Joking aside mate good luck with getting the bike back on the road and your a** on the saddle.

Yes, this is what the workshop manager at my bike shop told me the other day...it is this comment that has me worried a little!!!

Looks like you're also missing a screw in your right TB can.. Wouldn't want to miss that on the insurance!

LOL! That screw went missing a while back....have just taken delivery of a whole new set of 12 screws....prepared for the worse!
