Speed TV really sucks

I mean where is the Bar Stool and Lawn Mower racing? Geez...

No......they also run re-runs of Superbikes, that I've seen 10 times each.

Yeah its pretty lame programming on there part, they need more update cool stuff (ie) snowmobile racing/dragracing, mud bogging, hill climbing, new superbike shows etc, its not like it cost alot to send a video guy out to some of these shows and bring back some coverage, i dont need commentary to enjoy these shows!

Speed TV has gotten pretty weak. During prime time as all they have is crap. What happened to real racing? They used to show motocross all the time and all the superbikes, supermoto and moto GP. We should e-mail them and complain.

Even during race season about the only coverage is NASCAR products; Busch, Trucks, etc.

I understand that NASCAR is very popular and most folks in the US don't care for motorcycle racing but it would be nice to see a little more variety.

I will admit I've not seen the Superbikes program. I'm assume its lame only because when I clicked on the host's bio link nothing was posted about him, only a very small photo.

If you like stunting it is an alright show. He does go to some races but it is really street scene oriented.

So some of you may know that Wind Tunnel is filmed here in Charlotte, NC. Some of the guys I race R/C's with work on that studio with Dave Dispane(spelling) Here is what they have told me. You all remember when the speed channel used to show all the "good stuff" WRC, Supercross, MX, Hill Climbs, Lawn Mower Racing, DTM, American Lemans, etc. Well apparently, Speed, used to be co-owned. One owner was all into the Nascar stuff, the other was into everything else and really pushed the coverage of those sports. Well with the Nascar thing taking off, the Nascar guy bought the other owner and made it his own channel. Thus cutting the time for anything but Nascar.

Word on the street is that the "cool" owner is working on starting up his own channel and will cover those forms of racing that the rest of the world enjoys. One can only hope, right?

I agree, snowmobile racing would be great for this time of the year. I've never seen it but it sounds great. The nitro powered ice racing bikes are really cool too. When we did the FZ6 Texas Campout we stopped at the Lone Star Motorcycle museum and they had an unrestored nitro ice racer from the 1930's. It didn't have a throttle or brakes. It was WFO and you stopped when you ran out of nitro!

I hear that - 5 or more years ago Speed used to pretty decent - motorcycle racing on Tues nights, World rally almost every weeknight after 11PM, all sorts of different auto racing series, etc. But you can see the trend to NASCAR overtime and at this point it might as well be the NASCAR channel for all intensive purposes. I'd welcome a new channel that showed the same kinds of things that Speed used to.

They have been showing the Motocross Journals or what ever they are called the past couple weeks. Those are good. Cover some good stories and interviews with some of the 70's, 80's MX guys. Those are worth watching! But thats about it...

Yep, it used to be good. So was nascar 25 years ago. Now it's all about the Chevy,Dodge Ford, Toyota ,"pork the other white meat 300"
The best was in the late sixties when these guys were doing 200mph in real cars and we had fights between drivers, ya baby.

... All that said, yes the current programming on Speed is pretty lame. I swear they keep showing the same "Mazda Atlantis" race over and over. I like GT and GP car racing, hell I even like endurance, sprint (and other flat track) and rally racing. Why don't they show all that shyte I wonder?

Nascar sucks. Sorry N-car fans, but I think it's Super Boring. Many of my friends disagree with me.

For $75 I got a frig, two TVs, a 13 and a 20. The 13 had a DVD player built in. I also got a large fan, a lamp. Then I "found" a table and a chair. My can was stylin'!

It used to be called Speedvision, and was one of the best places to see the "other" forms of racing. I was hooked on the WRC, those drivers are nuts. Now it is all NASCAR, which is fine, but many other chanels cover NASCAR as well. I really hope another chanel starts that covers what Speedvison did, lots of racing history, stories of drivers (like Phil Hill, Paul Frere, Oliver Gendebien to name a few) and histories of the races/tracks. It would be nice to see the SCCA Runoffs in fall too. There is more to the racing world than just NASCAR.

I responded too quick to see where you live but I see the runoffs in the fall. But they show them around noon eastern time.
