Seat cowl installation...

Just got my TCP seat cowl in the mail.. its an xmas present, but i figured i would "make sure it fits" . im glad i did actually, after opening it, i noticed i was missing a m5 nut right off the bat... no biggy, they are $00.01 at any hardware store... then as im installing it... its like snug as SH!T! like im talking im worried im gonna snap something.. nothing seems to be getting it on there, after i got it on, i snapped a few pics... it looks ok but not sure how much i want to fool with it.. it wont come off too often, but me and the wife will ride every now and then through the summer, dont want to be outside F'ing around with it for 25 min just so she can ride... now im bummed... i got a hell of a deal on it ($203, $218 shipped) so i dont want to just send it back.. but not sure if i really want to F with it all the time.... thoughts...?

the biggest reason i got it was wavex's v2.1? i think, it looks bad a$$ on there.. i saw the vid on youtube of the "naked conversion" that seat cowl makes the bike complete, but doesnt seem to do the same for mine...

I think that it looks ok. As for Wavex's, the look of his probably gives it a different feel since his was modded as a street fighter. Then again, I could be wrong.

Is it gloss black? In the picture it doesnt look like it. As far as removing it only takes a minute.

yeah, its gloss black.. and install/removal seems harder than trying to take your rear tire of the rim with a spoon and fork

I think they fit some bikes, sometimes not though.

To my eye, there's just something not quite working between the seat cowl and the blacked-out OEM mufflers...it just looks a wee bit "heavy".
It's not ugly, though....it does look quite ok...but you might want to consider a custom exhaust to set everything off.

I like it....but then again I have the same cowl on mine (except I painted mine black myself). I also have a aftermarket exhaust and dont have the rear hugger...so maybe that changes the look for me. I think it looks good on your bike though.

It does'nt look bad, but it does look lost with the exhaust being black. I have mine in red and a different, but it's not as nice as yours.

I think it looks neat. You can take it of whenever you feel like it - you have it now. Your bike gave me a tear in my eye, a few actually. I had the same black Fazer S2 2008 but I had to exchange mine for a marriage certificate a few weeks ago Weddings is a costly affair I got a beautiful red head though... :thumbup:

hehe that sucks, i did the opposite, i told her we wouldnt be getting married till there was a bike in the driveway, and whatever she paid on the ring, i would get towards the bike, Man i love a free bike :thumbup:. hehe, signed the papers on the bike, crossed the street and got her ring.

I'm not sure why the install was so difficult. The only thing I can think of is are you using the stock seat? When I first tried to install mine I had the Comfort Seat on the fizzer and I felt like I was going to break the cowl trying to get it to fit, then I switched back to the stock and it went on rather easily.

Just a thought. BTW, I think it looks good. I'm not a fan of the banana seat at all.

i dunno, ill have to say, the first thing i did day one of ownership was to remove the stickers, but for some reason i think his look pretty good on there iwth the cowl...
