My wife and I and two other couples just got back from Sandals Negril for 8 days. Here's a little review and run down:

Resort:
I'd probably give it a 7 out of 10. Parts of it are getting a little old but still in nice shape.

Beach:
If the water is calm probably a 9 out of 10 only because the brochures make it look nicer than it is but its close to perfect.

Food:
Depends a lot on what you are expecting. Definetly not 5 star dining. Was most disapointed in the seafood but I would say overall a 7.

Atmosphere:
I would give it like a 15 out of 10 but only because we went with a group of out going couples and we had a blast together. If it was just my wife and I for a 'romantic' get away I would say 5-8 out of 10 range depending on what you like to do.

My trip:
My wife and I had a blast. We already want to go back but only if we have people to go with, we think we could only handle 3-4 days by ourselves. I got open water certification while I was there and can dive to 60ft and my instructor was awesome. Diving is free, with the exception of the wet suit rental, once you are certified. We also took a sunset cruise to ricks cafe and I jumped from the 35 foot cliff. But most of the time was spent in the water, under the water, on the beach, or at the pool with breaks for meals and drinks. On my camera alone I took almost 600 pictures... here are just a few (I will leave out the old man from hedonism who would walk our beach wearing basically a bright yellow sock):

Nice pics...lovely legs. Am I jealous ??? Yes. It is -4 in Denmark at the moment but I did get out for a couple of hours at the weekend.

Looks like a great place for a holiday. Thanks for sharing.

Steve

I was there at the Couples Resort near yours in May 2007. It was our honeymoon and we can't wait to go back. My wife and I both made the jump at Ricks, but she butt flopped pretty badly. Those are great pics, I really like the long shot of the beach.

There was a 56 year old lady who weighed close to 300 lbs who jumped. She got a standing ovation because we were all amazed she had the courage to do it. Next trip we are thinking st lucia and I am thinking maybe a better camera :)

congratulations on becoming SCUBA certified. You've officially just hooked yourself on another expensive hobby (like motorcycling). It's the best getaway you can ask for...in fact, I'm going tonight off the beach...for lobsters!

Thanks... yeah, one of the reasons we will probably stick with the all inclusives for are next vacations is the cost of diving is included. Now all I have to do is con someone 'investor' into paying for me to become an instructor and open a motorcycle/dive shop.

i hate you so much right now

man

take me next time. ill shave my legs and everything for you......

(btw I kind of look like the guy in my avatar there <--- )

dive/moto shop? Call me up when you need employee #1. I'm instructor certified to teach your classes and ride the moto which I do most of my own work on (but that's just because it never breaks!!!! to Yamaha)
