SoCal ON FIRE

I live in Diamond Bar. My mother's neighborhood has been evacuated, except for some that refuse to leave their homes. The air quality here is really bad. My eyes burn and throat is agitated. Last I heard the fire could be 19%-40% contained around the Diamond Bar area. No immediate danger on my street, yet the sky is orange-red on the South-East.

Likewise... pack up early and have it loaded in the car ready to go. At this point, the winds have died down quite a bit which makes the fire easier to contain. The main problem 2 days ago was the high wind gusts that carried the fire literally over a highway. Be safe and play it smart bro... pack the valuables now.

Even though the air is unpleasant to breathe right now. Most of DB is safe now. :cheer: Snoop Dog's house in Diamond Bar's gated community - "The Country" was evacuated. It's November 17 just couple of weeks away from Thanksgiving and the temperatures where at record high 80s. Usually it rains around this time. If this is not caused by Global Warming then tomorrow I expect the cyclical Ice Age to welcome me in the morning

I'm actually a bit worried about the coming rain season since most of the vegetation is now burnt to a fine crisp. No vegetation plus rain = mudslides.

Good but scary point. Sunny weather, earthquakes, fires, land slides ahh just part of the price to pay for living here.

Im so glad to hear that you and yours made it through , my thoughts and prayers go out to those who were not as fortunate (its being reported here that some 500 homes were lost) , i heard on the radio today that there was a change in the weather and the Fire crews were able to make some headway :thumbup:....... Lets just hope they get them out soon....

Yeah, the winds died down which makes it much easier to contain the fire. The problem a few days ago was the 30+mph winds with gusts well over 50mph. The fire was spreading faster than the firetrucks could move to stay in front of it.
