I've got almost 8k on my Michelin Pilot Roads, but really wanted to try the Conti Road Attacks this time. I can't wait to get them put on this Friday, for about the same price the Pilot Roads were going to cost me. The Road 2 are still just too expensive for me right now...

I have used them on several bikes, including a FZ6. They are a good tire for the money.

Always heard great things about them. They will be my next after my stockers wore out. Overall at SBN I think they alongwith the Diablo Strada and BT-016 are the best allround ST tires...

well, they're WAY different than the Michelins Got the first 27 miles on them this morning, since I couldn't get away all weekend.

It feels like I'm riding on the peak of a V V instead of the crown of a U U . As soon as I start a turn it wants to keep going and carve. I can't wait to hit a few twisties on the way home tomorrow. I'll check back in here on Wed. after I can get into them a little.

Great way of describing the feel of new tires. :thumbup:
I had my first drop less than 24 hours on my new tires, combination of sharp right turn, stalling the engine, and a dip in the road (well, two, after I fell...). Really improved my riding after that, though!

After getting on them a "little" bit in the curves, here's my initial reaction to these tires compared to the Pilot Roads:

+ quicker turning

+ steadier while turning (not wanting to straighten back up by themselves - some of this may just be because the Michelins had a lot of miles on them when I took them off)

+ no vibrations (I've always thought the Roads should have a little vibration since the grooves go straight across. Never noticed any on my Katana, and thought I was just nuts when I put them on this bike. But now that I have the Road Attacks on, the ever so slight vibration is gone.)

+ look better

- MUCH stiffer ride (small bumps transfer through the bike more. The Michelins soaked up the square edges on manhole covers, potholes from missing pavement, etc. This wouldn't be as big a deal if I didn't spend 1.5-2 hours per day riding through town...)

All that said, I still haven't slithered into the leather suit to really push them at all (not that my abilities will really "push" them, )

I like the fact that there's less vibrations cause there's enough on it anyway, but not happy about harder riding feeling.

Looks like I'll get to try out the new treads in the rain today, and probably tomorrow.

I've got a few hundred miles on them so far and am liking them. :thumbup:

They did great in the rain. I even accelerated kinda hard over soem painted lines when leaving stoplights, and they never broke loose. I'll be honest, I was a little worried because the Road 2's do have so many more tread grooves.

I didn't get a chance to cross much standing/moving water of any depth at any speed though. A little standing whater, maybe 1/4"-1/2" at around 55 mph and they were fine, but the Michelins were rock steady through at least an inch of water at 70+ mph. I was really hoping to try these Conti's out like that...

Another note while riding dry:
I"m very impressed with these tires in that they don't make the bike dance if you hit a painted line. I did notice it dance a "little" while turning and touching the line (I know it's a no-no, but wanted to try it with these tires). But if the bike's upright and you touch it, or pass a car, it doesn't move around :thumbup: like the Michelins did. :thumbdown:

I'm at 1,000 miles now, and they've just went from "ContiROAD ATTACK" to "c"......"tACK". The depth of those letters in the tread is minimal, while the tread grooves themselves are very deep. It appears I'm going to get some decent life outta these things. My ride has curves, but it is mostly 4-lane roads, so i'm not leaning over for nearly all of it. I'm really liking these tires. :thumbup:

Think the harshness has anything to do with tire pressure? I guess you probably would have thought of that though.

Oh yeah, so when are you going to post pictures of that truck in the bar?
