Finally got proper pants - Tour Master Venture

Ok, the gear puzzle is finally complete.

For years I've been :squid:ing around with improper gear. I've always worn a helmet, boots, gloves, jeans and a thick-ish jacket, but certainly not what you'd call sufficient gear. Last year I got a good jacket, but I kept wearing jeans.

Well, tonight I picked up a pair of these Tour Masters. I feel so much safer. The best part for my short a$$ is that they come in short lengths as well. Yeah, the knee pads aren't just protecting my ankles!! At $110, I hope I didn't cheap out, but they "seem" to be of good, solid construction.

I can finally tout ATGATT without hypocrisy!!!!

Yep, I've been shopping for months. I even paid two-way shipping TWICE on pants that just didn't work.

I notice your in VA... I got these in Fredricksburg at Morton's BMW. They have a fantastic selection. In the Richmond area all the bike shops carry 100 different jackets and..... "ummmm, I think we have a pair of jeans in the back."

Good for you! I went with the Venture Air's about 6 months/5k miles ago due to the hot Houston summers, and have been happy so far- although I have not tried sliding in them! Having options in the length & fit worked well for me, too. My only regret now is not buying something in silver/grey, since it might be cooler while sitting (baking!) in traffic.

Although these could probably carry me through the winter with the multiple liners (at worst 40F mornings), I'll probably invest in some dead cow soon, like a matching jacket/pant combo, to wear during our 3 months of non-summer.

I was very impressed when I went there. The service was knowledgeable and friendly. You're right about the selection! I don't know if you are aware, but DJ is moving Virginia Yamaha right across the street from Ultimate Cycle! That will be sweet having a big cycle hub there. I don't live but maybe 5 miles from there!

I'd say it's worth the trip. And if you're a BMW fan like me then it's totally worth it to check out the bikes and, if you have time, take one for a ride.

Better yet, avoid Morton's at all cost. That can be anexpensive trip!!
