I just bought my new 2007 model FZ6 and took it out riding, I am a relatively new rider so I had been taking it easy and progressing rather well I thought, I hit a rough patch of road and overreacted hitting a curb with my oil pan on the left hand side of the bike, causing a very small leak. I want to replace the pan ASAP and I have ordered it and the gasket. I can't find a part number for the oil level sensor gasket. Also in the service manual it says something about removing the exhaust and water pump to take the oil pan off. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this.
Thanks
J.

It's not listed on the Yamaha parts catalog on the website. It may come with the switch. You may be able to reuse the old one if your careful. it shouldn't be baked on yet.

I just checked the service manual and it appears to be an "O" ring, it is probably good, it says to lubricate it befroe installing.

REMOVING THE OIL PAN
1. Remove:
• Oil level switch “1”
• Oil pan “2”
• Oil pan gasket
• Dowel pins
NOTE:
Loosen each bolt 1/4 of a turn at a time, in
stages and in a crisscross pattern. After all of
the bolts are fully loosened, remove them.

Not to be picky, but item 1 should probably be "Drain the oil":D

Nah....you can follow those instructions and by the time you get to the dowel pins you won't have to drain the oil so the tech writers just left it out to avoid confusing anyone. Saves ink and trees.......ROFL
