Hi Mike,
I posted a similar thread about glasses and night time riding, I was also in the rain. Its such a pain in the arse isnt it. There were a few mentions of RainX. I have brought a pair of gloves with a rubber wiper on the back of the thumb. It works pretty good.

I have used it on a Nitro, Shark, Fulmer, HBC shields. No damage.

My ICON helmet came pre-treated with a "no fog, no rain" visor. When I asked the guy at the dealership what to do when it needs re-application he said "a little RainX will do the trick".

......the gloves I do need to invest in though....

Try turning your head sideways to the wind, if the shield is clean it should just blow off. This works on the fog as well. You can also move your head down and near the wind shield on the bike and the swirling air there will blow it off as well. Other than that, Rain-X and the like:thumbup:

As a side note, as long as the shield is not lexan, it shouldn't be damaged from most stuff. Lexan can be pretty sensitive, though its not very scratch resistant either.

Plexus, Lemon Pledge, and microfiber clothes.

Clean with plexus. Spray on some lemon pledge and wipe it in with the cloth.

Once I've treated my screen in this way, all that I have to do is turn my head while riding and the water just beads off.

The little finger squeegees from aerostich are a nice fall back if I find myself riding in the rain for an extended period of time and/or my screen gets dirty.
