I know you mentioned Semi auto but for shooting clays I like a nice light over-under. I have a browning citori and a ruger.

To me it mainly depends on what kind of clays your going to be shooting, if your shooting skeet a over under is the best way to go, but i like shooting trap beter and i picked up a semi auto Charles Daily pretty cheep and its awsome for trap

Right on. How many shells are you allowed in the tube ? Up here we are only allowed 3.

It depends on what you're doing with it.

For trap/skeet, I'd imagine that'd be in the range rules/regulations.

I can only speak for NY regulations, so you'd have to check with your DEC/fish and game folks.

For waterfowl, I believe the max is 3.

For anything else, it's full-go with whatever you can hold.

Those Lightfields hit HARD. Sucks they're up to almost $20/box though. I bought a few when they were on sale for $10/box.

You are doing it wrong!

I have been handloading my own shotgun sabot slugs (525gr) for the past 13 years!

I got my lead for free which means I can fire 525 grain slugs at 1500 fps for about 15-20 cents per round! That's <$1.00 for a box of 5!

All you need is this mould from Lyman:

A simple $35 Lee shotgun press:

Powder, 209 primers and wads are used as the sabots!

I have shot probably 1,000 of these slugs through my 870 with 20" rifled slug barrel, it will shoot sub 3" groups with open sights at 50 yards.

I might have a man crush on you right now. Even with the cost of the equipment, that could pay for itself REALLY quick.

Are those 3" rounds you're making? I'm going to have to look into that.
