NorCal/SoCal ride 2011

Ended up splitting the last thirty miles or so, traffic was pretty backed up and there were no carpool lanes! WTF? LOL...couldn't shake that big Harley behind me, he was good.

Lot's and Lots of cops on ACH, especially between the ranch and La Canada. Had lunch there, and the bartender mentioned that there were 13 CHP's patrolling that stretch last weekend.

Lot's and Lot's of rocks on the roadway. Doesn't Cal Tran remove them? Must be no longer in their budget.

So I'm in the lobby using one of the three hotel's computer waiting for the northern hooligans to show up.

Day 1 is done! We had 25 miles or so of splitting too - not fun. But the first part of our ride was fun - HWY 25 in Hollister. Tomorrow should be a blasty blast!

This is how the evening ended...sitting in a bar at the Courtyard watching a high-speed pursuit on the telly and having some adult beverages..

And... racebrooks and I got talked into escorting these idiots out of town tomorrow. Another long day in the saddle!

The "squirrel Magnet"!! LOL I had never seen that many squirrels in one day in my life!!! And they all were aiming at John's front tire when trying to cross the road

I had a great day and it was very cool to see everyone again... great ppl, great roads, and food! Sorry for last night but after getting home and putting the kids down I was completely done... I slept like **** from Friday to Sat. and that's what killed me.

Made it home okay. 1124 miles total. Amazing trip, I'll write more tonight, but now I'm off to a family function. Big thanks to our So Cal hosts, we feel so welcome and well taken care of when we're down there. Special thanks to our babysitters Cali Rider, Jblk9695, and Motogiro for running sweep. It's a dirty job, but someone 's gotta do it.

I'll post pics/videos text later but I'm beat and my left hand swelled up today and I can't use it at the moment. I was worried about making it home from Hollister but survived.
