for a while but the weather here has been sh1t and the bike has stayed in the shed neglected.
Also ..... just before the sun did start to shine again I brought myself an SLK Merc.
OK before you all go - hey moneybags.... I brought a 2003 SLK immaculate and 70k miles on the clock for £4k-...
I guess many of you will have heard of the Ivaniser to get rid of the 'snatch' :BLAA: off closed throttle of FZ1's but is there somethign similar for the FZ6?
I think Ivan is in the US but he doesnt list anything Ivan's Performance Products
My mate came off his MV4 and broke his C2 vertibrae just before Christmas- apparently a 90% failure rate on making it to hospital but he is OK in a neck brace for a few months and a year off the bike.
Hasnt healed yet but he is hoping to get back on as soon as but not sure about what his wife...
OK- so I am not going to pay £300 for a new radiator fan and second hand ones are rare as hens teeth so ..... looking on Ebay there are various 'universal' radiator fans for £10-15- so I though might as well try one- what have I got to lose- if it doesnt work I can use it to cool me in the shed...
Anyone know if the radiator off a 2005 silver frame will fit a 2009 black frame fz6?
One on eBay and I need the fan for my bike but I know they are different
Cheers
Plugs and Sockets
So- you may have seen my plaintive laments about my ECU and corroded pins.
All is well now and bike back on the road but I think this winter I might take apart each plug and socket and treat them with...... And there is the question - what is good to spray or coat the...
I can see from above- this is a common problem- radiator fan failure.
I have a 2009 FZ6S2 and want to know if second hand radiator fans from other years bikes will fit mine when I go looking on Ebay- they look the same but that means nothing
Mine has the black frame but will the fan off...
So...... the apparent problem with the radiator fan that stopped the bike from starting has a completely different problem which will virtually scrap the bike. (Still have the problem with the radiator fan I guess)
The mechanic has found the problem- there is corrosion in the plug...
Had a problem with my radiator fan on my FZ6S2 - it wouldnt come on- known about it for some time :spank: but got reminded on Friday after a 'spirited' ride on a warm afternoon I got caught at some convoy controlled road works.
At 117degC the temperature light came on and the temperature...
I loved my S2 until my lad brought a CB1300... oh my the power and the torque... I had to have one and damn nearly put the Fazer on Ebay so I could get the red and white faired version with gold wheels and limited edition red frame....... but I have come to my senses and am keeping the FZ6...
No1 son came round with his Blackbird and suggested a ride- sky was a bit grey and I had my dark visour on my helmet. Looked in my Tech7 bum bag and I have lost my clear visor- bummer!
Anyway went out and with half a mile we had hailstones and torrential rain.... we persevered and went...
This afternoon after a spirited ride we stopped for a few minutes to chat before starting the engine again (FZ6S2) and the temperature warning light came on and the temperature was 116degC.
Luckily the temperature went back to its normal 85-90 straight away as soon as I got going again but I...
Cheapest fully comp plus business and pillion and no claims protected was £77.39 for me and my FZ6S:cheer:
Must be because I am old and they dont think I ride fast :spank:
Compare the meercat works for me! Bennets can go swivel!
Took advantage of the good weather and had four days in Devon with my lad on his Blackbird- brilliant.
Brother in law on his blade joined us for one day:rockon:
At the Castle Coombe race track- an hour observed ride around the villages 2:1 with a Police rider and then 15 minutes on the track as a taster
I did it last year and already booked my place for this year
If you have never been on a track this is the opportunity for a taster.... plus...
Changed a lot since we were there last
Lots of big litre bikes and pimped machines- seems to be more money on the streets since they joined the eu
Quite a few fazers fzs and fz6 and one with the registration fzn600 - lucky!
Be careful as there is a thread going around which says that if you are insured with Bennets they will cancel your insurance if you have more than 3 modifications on your bike including stickers.
I dont have all the details but it is in MCN web site
I have an LED tail light and twin dipped...
There are quite a few.... fast bikes, ride, etc.
I like 'Ride' as there are useful idiot proof tips on home maintenance and they talk about bikes that I might ride and not too many like the new R1 with six types of traction control
What do you think?
I buy a bike mag every two weeks...
