How often do you use your battery tender?

Any battery will last years longer if always on a BT. The constant fall off of a sitting battery and then recharging of it takes a toll on battery life. I have a car that often sits for weeks on end, but it is always on a BT, still using same battery since I bought it 6 years ago. Very cheap...

    My aha moment!!

Learn by your mistakes, that is how we learn. No sense beating yourself up over something you can't change.

    Damn flat battery

If it's totally flat you may not have enough juice in it to prime the FI system, and just riding it a few times around the block won't charge it. It has to be charged externally at this point. You don't have to pull it out but as long as the tank is raised and all that yank it out and recharge...

would a chain wrench damage oil filter??

+1. A K&N 204 filter with the 17mm nut welded on the top is the cleanest and easiest answer to this problem. $10.51 each delivered to you through Amazon Prime. (in the US at least) It's the only way to go, imo. All you need is a 17mm box end wrench and an oil pan to change the oil. And no...

Bike has been sitting for quite a long time and now won't start

Siphon that old fuel out, it's stale. You can get a siphon at Walmart for a few bucks. Then put a couple of gallons of fresh fuel in, add some fuel injection cleaner and see if you can get it to start. By recycling the key on and off you might be able to force enough of the fresh fuel and...

    Oh! Snap!!!

Harrowing to say the least. Depending on when the cord snapped her kinetic energy may have been low which allowed her to basically drop into the water at a slow speed. Not something I'd like to try.

    Battery Storage Question

Laziness is not something to be proud of.....:Sport: Letting it sit for months on end will do it no favors. Say it takes 30 minutes to pull it out and 30 minutes to reinstall it. A new battery costs what, $60-$75, so is your time worth this kind of money per hour? Advice, pull it out and...

    Keeping up with Tire Pressure

A simple bicycle pump works fine in the garage, no need to break out a compressor. I check every couple of weeks and adjust it as necessary. Simple.

    FedEx delivers

You think this happens only on the delivery front?? Your package changes hands many times in its journey......stuff gets dropped, crushed, thrown and generally abused all along the way, yet it usually arrives in good shape. If it is well packed it will be fine. I'm more worried about theft...

And this is why you should carry...

No, I don't think he was kidding. Gun control 'experts' always say if there are no weapons we would all be safer, to which citizens who believe in the Second Amendment of the Constitution ("A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep...

New To the Fourm... Sliders? To Get or Not to Get

I've got plenty of experience with bikes so I'm not afraid of dropping the machine while maneuvering it around my driveway or garage like many newbies do. Frame sliders can work in a simple tipover, but once you are up to speed they may or may not work, they may protect your plastic or may...

    Liter bike anyone?

FZ1 will be more of a match, hp wise, than an FZ6 and seating position on FZ1 is pretty relaxed (I broke my back as well and that was almost 40 years ago). I traded my FZ6 to an FZ1 after taking a test ride on the FZ1 earlier this year, a much easier bike to ride fast.

That's cool, until you get some a-hole in a cage behind you who wants to play around with you. There are plenty of them around, unfortunately. I don't like to provoke clowns in cars.

    Oh, Snap!

That's one of the problems with buying stuff cheap that is made in China, it often is poorly designed and construction. The added saddlebag structure looks like it stressed the poor seam on the FE. Good no real damage was done. Although high quality stuff like Evotech runs more money the...
