Anyone else own one?
I just got one the other day and I LOVE it!
The new version (V2) 80gb Zune device was $249 and came with a USB cord and sleek ear phones that fit perfectly under my helmet
it plays MP3, AAC, WMA for music, WMV & MP4 for movies, and JPG for pictures...
It also has a built in FM radio which is a nice plus... on top of being able to sync the device with your computer via the USB cord, it also has the capability to sync via your wireless router, which I tested and it works great! So everytime I add mp3s to my collection, it updates the Zune software and automatically syncs my device... and I can do that from my couch, without connecting anything!
While I really was not impressed with the V1 of the Zune (quality of the control buttons was "cheap", the feel was not great at all compared to the i-pod... so I never got one, and stuck with my old Creative Labs player), the V2 is just perfect and classy. It has a 3.2 inches/8.1 cm screen (bigger than i-pod) with a resolution of 240×320 pixels... it is covered in glass, which is way more resistant to scratches compared to plastic... it really looks great.
It took a few hours of tedious work to re-organize my MP3 collection inside of the Zune software, but once done, I am really happy with it! It goes online and gets the album covers for you, along with ID3 tag for your mp3s and makes it quite easy! (after getting used to it).
So last night I ripped "Super High Me" (pretty funny btw) to MP4 in about 15minutes, and uploaded it to the Zune in about 3-5minutes (700mb file)... so I had a nice movie to watch while eating my sandwich at lunch
I am really impressed with the quality of the screen and video... clear, no lag at all, beautiful... I bought the docking station on amazon for $29 today, and it comes with a wireless remote and A/V cable so I can load up movies and show them on my friend's tv or whatever... pretty cool.
Conclusion: up until now, I had never come across an MP3 player that would surpass the I-pod... both in interface design and in actual options/features, but I have to say, I believe the Zune V2 did just that :thumbup: Apple, you`d better improve your i-pod quickly if you do not want to lose big chunks of market shares to Microsoft!
