I'm guessing it was due to me having set up an account with Yamaha's parts website.... that's the question I am trying to answer for myself.

Pretty sure the marketing department will be getting a reality check, if my responses were anywhere near 'normal'....

I got it last week. Based on the questions they asked I am not their target group for oil.

Mobil Probrobly supplies it to Yamaha anyway and just re-brand it.

I did the survey. As with Hellgate, I'll be DAMNED if I'm going pay $15.00 a quart for oil! I even discontinued using synthetic since I ended up still changing it at recommended intervals. If synthetic is so superior then why doesn't Yamaha have separate and LONGER maintenance intervals for synthetic? I don't give a big rat's ass if a shirft is a little "smoother."I mean, if the lube duration qualities in a motorcyle wet clutch system are not going to be any better/longer using synthetic over conventional, it seems a waste to spend so much more money on synthetic. I know, a bunch of you will say that you extend oil change maintenance intervals when you use synthetic but I want to hear that from....YAMAHA. At any rate, back to the subject, I am not going to go out of my way to pay $15.00 per quart for oil when you can get m/c speciafic synthetic for around $10 or m/c specific conventional for around $4 a quart.

The kicker for me was when they were asking if I would be willing to pay ~$20/qt for 'race oil'..... I get all bunched up, if the oil and FILTER cost $20.

Yep, I got the survey about a month after I bought my bike.
