Yamaha 07-09 FZ6 Comfort Seat

I found this FZ6 comfort seat for $153.00 plus $17.00 shipping on ebay. Advertised as a brand new seat. Still have some available.

Does that seat have the usual foam, then a layer of gel over that?

Why not sell the bike with a comfort seat right from the factory? Should we really expect to pay extra for that? Like somebody said "lets put a hard ass board seat on it and then we can sell them all new "comfort" seats and improve our aftermarket sales."

It would be one thing if it were just a better aftermarket seat by some seat specialist like is available for most every bike. But seeing it as an offical "Yamaha" factory accessory really rubs me wrong. Especially when you look at it and see that it's not much different than what they give us for "free".

Sorry to rant but it goes right along with my feelings about the forks.

Still love the bike though.

I have the so called comfort seat, it did come stock on the 09. It is a little better then the older seat but not that much better. I just ordered a Corbin today, if anyone wants my yamaha comfort seat I'll sell it cheap once my corbin shows up.

Hey iSteve,
Please let me know or post how that Corbin seat works for you. I am thinking about getting one too but the price is high, especially with the backrest, which I would like to have if it can be put on and taken off quickly. If I invest in one upgrade on the bike, I think that would be it.

Why didn't my '09 come with a comfort seat?!

I know they pictured the '09 with one, but I got the regular 'ole seat.

I already got a couple of PM's about my comfort seat. I bought it from ebay same place as OP pointed out.

The Comfort seat was suppose to come on the 09's I know that my local shop has 2 09's in stock both with this seat and not the old one.

My 09 didn't come with a comfort seat. Had to buy one. While it is an improvement over the original, I'm still undecided as to whether it was worth the money.

When I first put the comfort seat on I thought it was too firm. I went back to the stock seat one weekend and put the comfort seat back on again. The comfort seat is not great but for long rides it's much better then the stock one. I'm hoping the Corbin is worth the $439.

Just thinking outside the box here... is it totally irrational/unfeasible to just take your stock seat to an upholsterer and have them fabricate a nice seat for much less than ~450 dollars??

Not by much, it feels narrower because it's a little better contoured.
