I'm curious to start recording how long it takes to get from point A to B. I'm a very detail-oriented person so my plan is...
X time it takes to get from my house to the freeway on-ramp. Then Y time it takes to get from there to the off-ramp and on and on etc. so I can see the times in different sections if you will.

I figured a simple watch with a "lap" function will do, but then I saw all these GPS watches that record distance covered and your average time as well as speed such as this one:
Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS Fitness Monitor - Men's - Free Shipping at REI.com

Anyone else have issues like me and have a system and favorite product they use?

Most Auto GPS's will track your time, speed, elevation and of course millage and let you download it to a mapping program. You can then retrieve times and speeds from the map or travel log.

Or for what you want to do you could try to find a stop watch with memory function and maybe a remote button that you could attach to you handlebars.
