Thankfully, it wasn't my bike.

Disapproving son, disapproves. Pretty sure it's gonna be totaled. :( I'm fine though. Despite not wearing any gear, I received no road rash. :)

PSA: Bicycles designed for 5 year olds aren't good for adults. On the bright side, they're pretty cheap to replace.

all is not lost, whip off that other pedal and those pesky training wheels, he'll learn to scoot and get his balance real fast and the next bike will be the best thing since sliced bread.

One of the scariest things I've done on a bike.

I used to walk my son to school when he was 5. He would ride his pushy, and I'd walk beside. When we got to preschool, I'd walk the bike back.

Well, one day I thought I'd go home a different way and tried riding his bike down this big hill.

Needless to say I strongly suggest against riding a bike with training wheels.

At about 30kph, I leaned a little....

I highsided, I lowsided and I got onto a tankslapper all at once.

Of course I wasn't wearing gear so I had roadrash EVERYWHERE!

Oh the things we do when we were young!

Cheers,
Rick

Yeah it's going to become a "track" (balance) bike now. I cringed every time the training wheels hit the ground, starving him of the real feeling.

And yes, it's amazing how much those kid things can get you on trouble. It smacked up my calf and ankle and I barely kept myself from going down.
