The fz6 I bought has the stock windshield on it, but cut down so it is even with the top of the faring. It does keep me from getting any wind around my helmet and has been great with the summer temps. However, with winter coming on and bringing colder/wetter conditions, I'm a little concerned with protection from the elements.

Anyone have any advice/experience with using a "touring" windshield on their FZ6? For reference purposes, I'm 5-6 and the bike has bar risors on it, so I sit up pretty straight on the bike.

quite a few brands of touring windshields here;

1) yamaha touring windshield
2) puig touring windshield
3) cee bailey touring windshield

just to name a few.

As far as experience goes, touring screens will definitely provide more protection and are very good at slower speeds (up to about 50mph). There will be more helmet noise with Puig or Yamaha Touring and buffeting will be quite bad at highway speeds.
No personal experience with cee bailey.. it's the tallest of the bunch and might be tall enough to send the air completely over the helmet. It's also about twice the cost of Puig.
