Funny thing. I never really liked country music. Actually I found out later it was the commercialized version of what country music was supposed to be that I didn't like. Like anything that just becomes a formula and doesn't really have it's roots in the heart.

When I would hear Johnny Cash I would cringe. Couldn't figure out what it was all about especially growing up in Jersey. My family on my mothers side were as country as you can get. Early settlers from the pilgrimage.
I used to have a short wave radio and one night I ran across WWVA radio in Wheeling W. Virginia. They played music from a place called the 'Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights. It was this type of country music, different from what I had heard commercially as country music. I later found it's roots were more Appalachian and I somehow felt this style was what country music really was. One day I ran in to re-runs of the Grand Ole Opry and became interested in what it was that they were doing. There was this really cool lady named June Carter Cash! Oh no! It it couldn't be! Yup! A Mom Carter and her daughters. One (June) married Johnny Cash.

Then I heard a Johnny Cash cover of Nine Inch Nails "Hurt" This just floored me. I believed he had recorded this not long after June had passed and not long after he joined her. Correction: June was alive when he did 'Hurt' and then he passed 4 months after her...

I think im recovered enough to post now although im still deaf with about 30% hearing & bad ringing in my ears :cheer: :cheer: :rockon:

My hero's were INSANE lastnight , like I told Kazza earlier I have now seen them 7 times & never have they been LOUDER or happier :rockon:

I've checked the stats and lastnight was a rare treat worldwide but the for the very 1st time ever in Australia I heard Orion played in its entirety OMG it was AWESOME :rockon:

The light show , the stage set , the pyro & the incredible colour changing fire was freakin AWESOME !!!!!!! Kazza you are in for a real treat :thumbup:
