This is a great topic because here in Puerto Rico we do a lot of noise with what we called "parrandas" we play music and sing in all our friends houses late night. We also have a tipical drink "coquito" is a mix of Bacardi Rum with coconut milk is very sweet but it will get you feel very good..... We also have pork "lechon" with rice and "pasteles" huuuufffff I'm hungry now....got to gooo......:jawdrop:

Martin....where the hell is Hilston anyway????????????????? :Flash::cheer:

Steve

Hilston is that where you're from Steve.

You know what makes MY Christmas?!? Buying gifts for all of my family and watching how excited they get when they open it.......and playing Santa Claus. Giving is much more fun than receiving.

I know what you mean J, I get to do it twice, once as saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas) and once as father christmas (santa claus).

...............
What troubles me is how commercialized this holiday has become and how the true meaning has been lost to so many.
.........

When I first moved to Holland I really liked the way the majority of the Dutch seperate the commercialized trappings of christmas with the true meaning of the day (even though I am not a believer), but when you've got young kids it's difficult not to give in :o

Anyway I'm going to enjoy my holidays with family and friends, and lots of good food

It is all about the kiddies with me. I take off the whole week, so we can hang out as a family. Checking out the Christmas Decorations in the neighborhoods, presents, and food. Great Family Time!
