Velocity Stacks

Do R6 Velocity stacks fit the same model year of an Fz6?
I heard somewhere that the fz6 engine is a design from an older r6, so would you need to match the engine code in the vin number to get the appropriate model year of r6?

searched through the forum, but have not found an answer if the 03-04 r6 velocity stacks fit 07-09 fz6?

have anyone tried? some inputs will be very much appreciated. cheers.
