I bought 2 tickets for the upcoming Iron Maiden show in Irvine CA. :rockon:
My wife is not a headbanger (neither am I) but I love a good show. Anyone else going?

I worked on the Iron Maiden tour a long time ago. They have very dedicated fans, kind of like Kiss, but at a smaller scale. Don't really care for the headbanger type acts either, but from my experience, they all seem to be very nice people with no huge egos. Slayer, Pantera, Rob Zombie were a few acts that I could remember where the band members were great! They were just one of the guys. I've even toured with Metallica, but that band was at another level above the rest where they didn't socialize with the crew as much. Not saying that weren't nice guys, but the logistics and the magnitude of the tour prevented an intimate environment to get to one another. I assume you are going to seem them at Verizon Amphitheater/Irvine Meadows, unless they changed the name Again!

Wow! They were in their peak during the mid 80's. I hear they still rock! Did you like the show?

Excellent Vegasrider! What type of work did you do? They are coming to Irvine Meadows end of May. I have not been to any type of concert for like 15 yrs!

Back then, I was in charge of the band's merchandise, providing inventory stock that were sold at each of the venues wherever they played. I always heard the saying, why don't they slash the prices of the shirts after the show, and the reason being, because all of the unsold merchandise gets packed up and taken to the next show. Also, another common story, I can buy or they were selling them in the parking lot at half the cost of what the venue is charging. Well, those shirts sold in the parking lot are unlicenced, "bootleg" or "knockoffs" that were printed illegally. A federal offense, called copyright infringement. All they do is take income away from the artist, venue, and most importantly, taking away the tax dollars for the local economy because of the loss of revenue for everyone involved. Fortunately for me, I was salary. I made the same if I grossed $1000 or $100,000. I've done huge stadium tours in which the gross sales for one show hasbeen $750,000. Big business. Anyway, have fun and BRING YOUR EARPLUGS!

Maiden, Maiden, Maiden, Maiden !

:rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon:
I convinced my wife to attend the Iron Maiden show with me in Irvine last Friday. Even now after 3 decades of playing they ROCK. Dickenson's voice has not changed or get grumpy like I was afraid it might. The show was filled with awing pyrotechnics, smoke, and excellent sound. The rising pot smoke also added to the nice atmosphere. It was cool singing along with the maiden fans to songs like The Number of The Beast, Fear of the Dark and many more.

That is sooooo cool! I have been a Rob Zombie fan for a long time now, he seems like a great guy and it's nice to hear that he actually is cool! I was a big Pantera fan too back in the day. Still sad what happened to Dimebag (even though Pantera had broken up by then).

This is making me want to pull out my Lasexorsisto and Vulgar Display of Power albums!!! I hope I have them on CD and not tape...

Meh, I put my CD collection on MP3 a long time ago. I have a general playlist for certain things. But should I be playing Counterstrike source... Pantera, Rob and White Zombie, Metallica's first 5 albums, Megadeath, and many more metal bands are on that playlist. Glad that you guys got to see them. The wife and I are going to see NIN this august.

From your pics, I see that they played over at Blossom. Been there so many times back in the days I use to tour.

I was over at the Hard Rock Casino a couple of months ago. I noticed some picture taking going on and noticed that it was Vinnie Paul of all people. Waited until the the pics were over, then I said hello. He was very glad to see me, gave me a big hug. He told me he pretty much moved here to Vegas and told me about his new band. As far as the Dimebag thing goes, we both could relate as he knew me well enough how it feels. For all you guitar guru's or Dimebag fans, Have a shot of Crown Royal, because that was his signature.
