A a racer who participated in the last true road race in the United States (Streets of Steamboat) I can't say no.
I do think that IOM is for the insane, however I'd love to ride it.

Wayne is a moron. Arrogant (I've met him and can vouch for this.......) and he never had the guts to race the TT himself.

The difference between Guts & Stupidity is a fine line....it come sometimes only be seperated by a state of mind.....

i know that if i was the partner of a bike racer, who had kids, i would not want them to race the TT.....it's not fair on the kids....especially if the worst does happen, and the kids get to see it!

I would happliy call WG a wanker, but gutless, is a big call, i would like to see you get on a late 80'S NSR GP racer, and tame it!!!!

Nah, don't think the NSR is for me :shakehead:

Not saying I could do it, NO WAY. But if the guys are happy racing it, leave it alone. :D

As for the TT. If people have dependants etc., then maybe they should choose to opt out. If people choose to risk dying doing what they love, then so be it I think. Better than lying in a hospital bed and going out wondering what could have been.
 
At the end of the day, i say let people ride, but i did find WG's stance interesting, it seems that his new role as a delegate on the National Road Safety Council has gone to his head!

He is starting to talk like a Beaurocrat already....

There is some validatity to his arguement, but his ability to be diplomatic about it is non-existent!!!!

The boy needs some media training.....but you would think by now, he should know better....me thinks he is trying to impress his new bosses!!!!

Lol! Yes, well, there is also the added bonus of getting shot at when doing the Dakar....what would Wayne think of that???

I wonder what Wayne thinks of the Dakar anyway....cause that's just as crazy!

As for Wayne G....he has proven a rather "prickly" personality for a very long time...But you gotta give the guy his due...he can ride pretty damn well!!!

Some of his "Rides" which sometimes resembled a 100mph mobile wrestling match between him and the bike!!!

He even fell off once, got back on and won...with half his bike hanging off! The guy had plenty of guts....

As for "Captain Chaos" you will never hear me bag his riding credit , like you said some of his bike were nasty :thumbup: He does have this hollier than thou attitude ever since he did that stint in the Japanese GT car championship :(
 
Rossi went there last year. Rode around the circuit on an R1 and said "No way. These guys are crazy".

Just about sums it up....


As for Mr G, I don't like him for 2 reasons:

1 When Doohan was first riding in the Rothmans team, WG was a real wa*ker to him. Didn't like that.

2 I met him at PI. Asked for his autograph, and it was like I was asking for his firstborn. Mike said to him "If it's too much trouble for you mate, stick it in your a**". "Oh, no. It's alright." was his reply. Little weasel.....

I'd be happy to ride the course, and go at it pretty hard too (hard for an old fat bugga with crap skills...lol.), but racing on it and going five abreast into a turn, wondering who's gonna chicken out first.....hmmmm...me thinks, I'd have to start learning a new language consisting of a lot of bok bok bagurking:D...lol.

I'm with the shirt lifter on this one....lol...those guys are nutty as a Snickers:BLAA:.

Awesome to watch though:thumbup:.
 
Oh thought of another great race he can **** with, Baja 1000.


Dont know what his problem is. If open road racing is this very dangerous sport, why isnt things like FMX, stunt jumping etc etc on his radar. Those guys/girls are always having pretty nasty crashes & injuries, yet they are doing no where near 200km/h +.

Sorry if didnt make sense :thumbup:
 
I love watching the TT. And yes they are nuts !! Totally nuts ! Well I guess he is actually getting some press now .... (Wayne that is)
