just a question, I know on cars you can either change the mileage or stop it to keep the mileage down. Can we do it to bikes as well.

you can simply disconnect the gauges but that would disable everything on the display...i wouldnt recommend it 
older bikes had steel cables to the front wheel that was used for the speedometer+odometer...it was much easier back then lol

+1. Just log the miles to show how much fun the bike is to ride and that it got used regularly. I'd take a higher mileage bike in good shape any day over a bike with really low miles for the model year. Mechanical things that have lubricated parts need to be run in order to keep seals and such in good shape. The worst thing you can do is just let your bike sit around.

Ok..... so he died 53 centuries ago (that's thousands of years ago for you that are not in-the-loop). After he died his body was buried by snow/ice. Now the global temps have increased, melted ice and revealed his body (this is a must because if his body were not covered in ice for thousands of years it would have rotted to nothing). So basically, the global temps have returned to what they were when Iceman died.... 53 centuries ago. He's laying uncovered for the first time in 53 X 100 years... 5,300 years. It's been cold for 5,300 years and now it's back to what it was then.
"Then" as in before we had cars, before we burned coal, before we drilled for oil, before we mixed gasoline, before we pooped in a toilet. We really are causing global warming aren't we!

A few thousand years ago the earth went into a warming cycle that was huge and to the point of mass extinctions similar to the ones we see today but far worse. Funny thing about it was there were no cages, bikes and so on. Today, we find areas that are seeing the coldest summer temperatures in 150 years, the Antarctic shelf growing thicker and all sorts of weird things that aren't related to a warming condition. We also see Al Gore losing a law suit at the Queens Bench over a film the English science community found to be totally wrong. Them English folks rock you know....

There's a difference between denying "global warming" and recognizing that there is a legitimate scientific debate ongoing regarding the CAUSE of warming temperatures. Al Gore would like us to believe that the scientific is 100% convinced that this is human caused, but there just isn't proof.

Liberal kool aid or not, I find that the evidence supports pointing the finger at human activity - we cannot cripple the planet's regenerative processes while at the same time releasing more 'bad stuff' than the processes could handle in the first place and expect something bad not to happen.
There are natural ebbs and flows to the levels of heat on our rock, which go hand in hand with amounts of atmospheric CO2. Levels of CO2 are currently far above any upswing on 'record' - which goes back some 600,000 years. Human populations and activity are also at an all time high - coincidence? I say "No".
Of course, I'm sure that was all just made up so that 'they' could charge more for gas and start using food for fuel, to push global food prices higher, to cause Americans to default on bad loans, so people would have something to think about other than Bush's misguided attempt to procure more oil via thuggery. So, one can easily see that it is not a Global campaign to prevent, or at least minimize, Global Warming - it is the Liberal campaign for Less Oil against the Conservative campaign for More Oil.
