Well living in Tumbarumba in the mountains there is no coppers to speak of.
There is one straight miles away from everyone which is about 11km long going down a medium slope. I have opened it up a few times best I could get was 228kph down hill with my weight 95kgs.
So any one who says they can get more than say 235 to 240 ( on a stock bike) is telling porky pies:spank:. lol

My top speed on GPS was 134-MPH (had room for more), new laws here have me nervous about going 100+ though, so I don't get there too often.

your speed limits goto 100mph????
Or is their harsh penelties for going over 100mph.
In N.S.W. in Australia.
Top speed is 110 KMH and pretty much your license gone for going 30kmh over.
Or about 60mph and 75mph repectivly..
Is like a Draconian state, but they are thinking of the children, so its ok.

the cops are worse here in WA. I love the nsw cops in comparison.
My top on the naked was 218. farkin hard to hold on at that speed. and that was with a dirt style helmet with a visor.
i have no licence now.

I believe the break in process has a lot to do with top speeds. A bike ridden hard from the get go will seal the rings better than a babied bike, thus making for more power.
The quality of fuel would also come into play . Clean burning fuel equals clean burning valves, with no carbon buildup to leak compression.
Proper valve clearance, spot on carb tuning or throttle body synchronizing all play a part as to why one bike will top out at 125 and another at 140.
While I haven't tried for top speed , I do know that it'll do over 100 mph in 3rd gear...and that's a big enough speeding ticket for me to loose my commercial drivers license, which means I'd loose my job, which means,,,

Arrgh, could be anything...it's actually on video somewhere....the speedometer that is...was standard sprockets, gearing, and it was on a long straight, undulating run....things were getting very twitchy...From what i have been told...
Oh and the riders were both fat ba$tards too!

I reckon I know a bloke who weighed in at 100kg and got his stockasarock FZ6 up to 242km/h and hit a bit of a bump and got air at that speed. He reckoned it scared the absolute carp outta him....lol. It's a definite true story.:thumbup:

I did a trip out to Inverell which has some nice open roads, got a few opportunities to really open my bike up (when there was good vision and it was really nice and safe, comparitively!) I got just past 200km/h before the bike stopped really pulling, then realised I wasn't in top gear. The wind was too strong to keep accelerating on such a bad surface though.
She absolutely flies in the corners if you carry your speed, in fact she corners better doing 120-140 than doing lower speeds in alot of cases, that being said those are nice windies not really tight ones, which I'm sure some of the skilled riders of this forum would probably be doing alot faster on
*For any law enforcement personal looking at this post all speeds are in kris-o-meters, a currently undisclosed distance that would strangely enough represent a totally legal speed*

Somebody who lives near the salt flat's should go and run a stock fz6 to it's top speed then we will know..... :rockon:
