Toby steering damper.

Just installed a steering damper from Toby and I can highly recommend it, the nervousness in the front wheel in high speed cornering is gone and the bike feels more stable. :rockon:

Great stuff! You will get people that will try and tell you that the FZ6 doesn't need a steering damper on the road!

But those of us who like to ride the bike like we stole it occasionally know different!

Where did you get? I havn't seen one that would let me keep the stock bar holder. Also what handle bars are those?

Looks good. I am still waiting to see one that mounts somewhere besides the handlebar clamp though. I would think Wolfman would have one since he also has clipons (the reason I don't want one to use the handlebar clamp since the risers won't be there along with the clipons). I have seen some fork clamps for steering dampers but every FZ6 specific one goes up top.

Nup, i am going to do what the FZ6 Cup guys did, when they used clip-ons...continue to use the "od" handlebar clamp as the mounting point for my ohlins...Yes i know, there will be no handle-bars there, but i will be using the 2 handle bar clamps, to mount a piece of round bar between the two clamps....most probably a piece of the old handlebars...from which to attach a ram mount for a video camera in the future.

I thought I saw the cup bikes with the damper mounted up top still. It is a good spot to make a camera mount, I saw a post somewhere where they made a simple one out of some PVC pipe. Personally I am going the Bertmoog way with my triple because I don't video my rides and find the stubs ugly. But the search continues for a mounting method for a damper...

Totally agree that it makes a big difference. I had a Matris Adjustable damper on my FZ6 (sold) and it made a world of difference in steering.

Thanks, I got the damper from a company called Toby. Ohlins also have one that mounts the same way but that one is more expensive. My handlebars are called Jotabars and the are adjustable. My opinon is that they gives you a riding position between standard bars and clipons. You can find them Here.
