Has anyone used these? I have not found a pair of ear buds that fit my tiny ears and stay in while riding without falling out!!!! :rant:

I tried for the first time last weekend wearing my iPod while riding. I had to put the volume pretty loud in order to hear well the music, and after a while, my ears were kind of hurting. Afterwards, I was just having some noise problems in my ears and opted for earplugs. I love to listen to music, but the iPod stock earphones don't seem to work that well with a helmet and the loud noise of the wind.

I have an I pod shuffle I never liked wearing the buds in my ears with helmet on as I felt it took to much away from what was going on outside the helmet so I routed a set of the long shank ear buds around behind the foam inside the helmet and mounted them in the cutouts that are there for your ears. I do have to turn it all the way up but it is audible around town or on the highway and I only put my sheild down on the highway. Works good for me and still allows me to hear the bike as well as anything going on around me. I have a Scorpion EXO-400 btw.
I don't need the distraction. Riding around in a town with 25,000 students is already dangerous enough!

the only type of earphones you should be using are the ones with foam inserts that go INTO the ear. do not use earbuds
the reason why is because the foam ones actually cancel outside noise. this allows you to not only keep from damaging your ears from wind noise but allows you to keep your mp3 volume levels sane
if you are using earbuds and are pulled over, youwill prob be cited. if you are using foam earplug type the LEO generally wont care as long as you heard him when he was trying to pull you over

I listen to music all the time, connected to my Zumo GPS. I find it enjoyable, not distracting. Using JVC marshmellow earbuds and low volume, I hear the music and what is going on around me. The marshmellows take out the wind noise.
