The Thors look great. I have a set of Icon knee/shin guards that I wear under my jeans if I wear them but the thors look much more secure as far as the knee is concerned.

Thanks for the review!! It is a wonderful price for something that might save your knees in a fall. I wear overpants, but would consider these for summertime riding with jeans.

I saw that review too and it got me thinking...Is it better to wear knee and hip armour under some abrasion resistant pants or to wear pants with the padding built in. What is the consensus here? Obviously there is ease of use with the pads built in - but is there a downside to suiting up with your own pads underneath - other than inconvienience?

Problem I see with built-in armor or pads in pants is, unless the pants are skin tight and don't give or move at all, there is a good chance the armor will shift depending on how your leg is bent when you impact ground zero. Strapped to your knees should mean the armour is in the right place all the time.
