The Ashes 2010-11

I was just looking at some of the on line reviews of the last days play. This is a corker of a quote from Brydon Coverdale
" In Watson's past 11 innings he has been out for 56, 57, 51, 57 and 54. He's becoming as synonymous with the fifties as James Dean".

I don't blame him, the way the Aussies are playing.......

England 513 all out.

Australia 98 and 169-6.

Australia only need another 246 from 4 wickets to make England bat again.

:D

Mate , im searching the rule books for a 'mercy' rule :D

I did find this smiley of Ricky Ponting today :surrender: :surrender: :surrender: :rof:

He isnt an opening batsmans breakfast , I dont know why they insist on making him bat there :don'tknow: He would be for better suited down at #6...... Having said that , he is one of the few Aussies that can hold their head high this series

t'aint looking too clever for Ryan Harris is it? Poor bugger.

Or poor Ponting, he's off for x-rays, to create an excuse for the reason he wont be at Sydney.

Well we won a handsome victory in the end. Well done boys. Thanks to Siddle and Haddin, who had a real go at the bowlers to make an exciting finish.
Can't wait for highlights tonight.

Nelly

:D

Congratulations to England & all the England fans.

I hoped this day would never come again whilst im alive where we lost the Ashes on home soil.

Well played England, well deserved.

Yep! This Golden Era of Aussie Cricket is now officially over!

Only way we can respond to this thumping, is to at least win the World Cup next year!

Congratulations England...best side i have seen in Oz from you lot...ever!

Trott....Wow! that boy has some talent!!!

As for Ricky...give the boy a break! He has been an incredible player for a very long time!

Well done Seth Efrica :eyebrow: ooops sorry ment to say England :BLAA: Well played , totally deserved & we were comprehensively FLOGGED :spank:

Where to now for Sydney

A. Bollinger has to play
B. If Doherty/Beer are our spinning future then one of them must bowl on a spinners paradise
C. If he doesnt announce his retirement this week Ricky must be rested
D. Clarke needs to go play for NSW for a while

Or how about this , blood a young Australia A superstar of the future & Glenn Mcgrath protege Mitchell Starc that boy is the future of fast bowling..

Also let Brett Lee have a swan song at the SCG , he has been on fire for the Blues , is fit & still as fast as ever  He is also a certainty for the World Cup

IMO Ponting has to go. Its now a case of does he 'forcefully' announce his retirement or does he suffer the humiliation after such a great carrer by getting dropped/fired?????

Just hope CA sees sense & drops that little prick Michael Clarke at the same time. No way can he be the next captain.

I dont think that will ever happen , I think the selectors are starting to look towards alternatives like Haddin or a suggestion that Steve Waugh made the other day I really really liked was Tim Paine....

I have had the thought myself that there was room for Paine & Haddin in the side but thought it was a silly idea having 2 keepers :don'tknow: but if S R Waugh says it OK then who an I to argue :D

Remember this?

may the Aussies kick some Pommy Ar$e :BLAA: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or this?

Us "convicts" are going to do what we do best...kick the poms butt into oblivion!

..the Aussies will take no prisoners, and push the Poms aside to win 5 nil!

How about this?

Get ready for another 5-0 thrashing (i hope).

In the interests of posterity I just wanted to point out that England beat Australia in the Fourth Test by an innings and 157 runs.

Oh......hang on........ that means that we won the Ashes by a whole match, an innings and 157 runs doesn't it? :D

Time for a beer methinks.

Bring on the next match, that should either be really good or really boring.:don'tknow:

If Australia can win that they should get some pride back, so I expect they may come out fighting.

Yep! We were wrong, very wrong! But your arrogance could also come back to haunt you! England is still only ranked 5th in test ranking's!!!!

Pretty poor really, even for a country that is reliant upon imports to win a test match series!!!

Wait till the World Cup...we will kick back hard! It's our nature! We HATE losing, almost as much as we HATE the poms!!!!

Nothing urks us Aussies more than being beaten by the "mother country"....and it is very unlikely that this superiority lasts more than a year or so! Us Aussies are way too proud!

You Poms should be beating us anyway...20 million people versus 70 million people...it should be a no contest everytime, but England forgot that for 20 years, and laid down like the front runners that they have been till now!

Awesome Effort England...you beat us with a bunch of imports, including your Aussie Help (your coaching staff!)...we taught you how to play!

:D

It doesn't matter, it's only a game..........

........which we won! :D

Something which you have struggled to do very well for about 20 years till recently! Lol! Enjoy your day in the sun, cause India are going to make you realise just how crap you are in comparison to them, and a very hungry South Africa, in coming test match series! Lol!

Your South African Coach, Andy Flower, is the reason you won this series...he was meticulous in his preparation...picking bowlers especially for pitches, etc...Like i said, Bravo......

No....

If we win at the SCG the series is drawn. You retain the Ashes, not win them....
