Hello all,

Has anyone successfully removed a tank sticker with a heat gun? Will the paint be damaged on the tank is my biggest fear. I got my bike pre owned and the sticker is all crooked and Id like to remove it.

What sticker are you referring to?
The Yamaha decals? Or the stickers just above the tank opening?

The stickers above the tank opening can easily be removed when using a hairdryer and LOTS of patience :)

As for the tankpad, it should be removable when using heat to soften the adherent and pull it of gently.
After you got it off, heat the residue of the glue on the tank and scrape it of with something not too hard for the paint (e.g. your fingernails).

Removing the warning sticker on the tank could be a serious violation. Do you want to risk a heavy fine from DOT? These stickers are are applied at the factory for a reason.
