Sv1000s

Hey, I am thinking of doing a bit of an upgrade. I currently have a 2007 FZ6 ( Blue) with 6500 miles on it and looking at an SV1000S. I bought the FZ6 new last year and while it has been a great bike, I have desires for something with v-twin torque and a bit of a grumble as I go down the road. Does anyone have any experience with the SV1000S

My friend just bought an SV650, and has owned one before, and even the 650's are mean as can be. He has a Yoshi slip-on for the pipe, and that thing roars like you wouldn't believe! I haven't ridden it yet, but we'll probably swap on a ride at some point this season. I wouldn't say it's an upgrade IMO, but it's definitely got some serious power behind it.

it's not the 1000, but my SV is totally awesome. Nothing like the rumble of a V-twin. Like I said though, no experience with the 1000, just the 650....

I currently ride an FZ6 alongside my boyfriend who runs an SV1000s. Feel free to send me a pm if you'd like to talk directly to him. I personally really like his bike, I'm just not a big fan of the riding position.

Agree with Maycyn...awesome bike and motor, but I also could not live with the riding position. My friend in California swears by his SV650S - a 2002 model which he bought new. When was the last year they sold the SV1000S?

The last model was in 2007. The riding position doesn't really bother me that much. I have hear the Heli Bars are great on those. I will be stopping in to Heli Modified for work this summer. I may be able to get the hook up. My roommate has the 03 and apparently they changed the riding position after that year, added a few more ponies to it, put a wider rear tire on it...few others I'm sure. Getting kinda bored with the FZ, bought it for long hauls but I stay within a 4 hour range. Kinda a shame to see it go though. Has a throttlemeister, K&N air filter, Motovation frame sliders and 3 piece Givi hard cases.
