Bryan Jerry and I got together for a quick ride today. What a beautiful day we got! Jerry (rode from San Bernardino) met Bryan and I in Santa Ysabel. Bryan and I started out in pea soup. It got foggier as we progressed about 10 miles eastward but as we rose in elevation all of a sudden it was sunny skies for the rest of the day for us.
Here's the area we rode. It was the east side of this loop. A great place to ride with great views and we got some pretty quick paces up.
We passed (and slowed) a rider I thought might be needy but he was okay. He shot passed us and we joined him at a quick pace till we reached the 8 freeway. We then stopped to tsalk to the new friend,Jim, and then rode back on Sunrise Hwy and to Julian for lunch.
We had such a great ride and when you get to do these rides with such great members and friends it's icing on top of sunny weather in the 70's on a great road
I needed a good ride today and this was just what the doctor ordered!
Here are some pics from my phone and Jerry's camera.
Thank you brothers for a great ride together!
Motogiro and Goop at the Julian Pie Company in Santa Ysabel
Our first roadside stop
Our new friend Jim from Santa Rosa. Ca.
We stopped on a little road called Kwimee Point where there was a nice view and a small monument with placards to deceased loved ones. We investigated what looked like some kind of structure in the rocks.
You'll see the Salton Sea (blueish colors) about 50 miles in the distance in the low desert below. We're at about 6000 feet above sea level.
Jerry breaks into a dance!
