Hi guys, im new to this forum but ive had my fz for about 8 months now, done a little work to it, airfilter cut outs, indicators, aftermarket exhausts system, tail tidy, belly fairing, pretty standard really... ill post some pictures when ive cleaned it with my bros 750SRAD. (edit cloggy got me to post pics!)

I was wondering if anyone has done the following;
complete R6 front end, and say... an fz1 headlight?
R6 swingarm
r1 seat unit

are there any complications with these? Like any special bearings or what not that I need to get to fit them or do yam parts just bolt on...

my bros a mechanic but we're just trying to find more information about it really, how hard it is and what not.

I've tryed the search but didnt find much part from an R6 tail which ill talk to the fella who owns the gorgeous bike. But thanks Cloggy!

Here she is all nice and dirty at winter, I keep her maintained but shes just a tad dirty! the oil was from a piston crack on my thundercat.

before the exhausts from this summer gone.

our bikes part from the srad and the sv has sold now and the gixxer400 is the track bike!

and my bros srad and mine in the top left from a ride with a massive group.

Sorry I haven´t done any of the mods you mentioned but use the search function, just don´t forget you need to use a minimum of 4 characters, so use the * as a blank if you search less letters :thumbup:

im working on the r1 tail right now... got the seat/plastics on waiting for turn/brake lights on order, also have r6 forks/calipers coming

awesome, is it hard to fit and find a whole R1 tail? is it just bolt on or needing other stuff/hard labor, etc.... and is it a second hand tail/seat?

oh if you're talking the whole subframe then i would say its too much work (they dont make things to bolt on)

u say it doesnt bolt on, so you have to make it fit then? or the subfram is alright to put on?

i used jb weld to attach nuts to the fz6 subframe in the right areas, and some metal brackets. its not a perfect fit, i plan to cut/weld the subframe in the future to make it look cleaner

have you dont any custom work before? take some time to look at your bike and how its put together, you can learn a lot just by looking... then order some cheap used parts for fitment and start modding :rockon: ... just wait til you see how much work an r6 swingarm would be

I would be real careful with using jb to hold your tail section on, that's puting a lot of trust in some putty, if your just looking for a quick fix I would think about tapping the frame or using nut serts, just anything other then jb I would have a scary feeling that first time the bike hit a good bump or 10k rpm the jb would fail

thanks for the concern... the weight of the seat/me rests on the subframe not the mounting points, the bolts just keep the storage under locked up since the locking mechanism goes to the back seat.

(when i lift up on the seat the whole bike comes with it, but it will get welded anyways when i can get to my buddies house, no welder at my apartment)

awesome, we'll have a look at it then and see what the best option for it is, im trying to get them all at the same time and all assembled (if possible) like the lights with it, so a WHOLE tail basicly. yeah done a bit of 'make it fit' work before.
