Hello all I'm new to the forum.

I'm returning from a 16 day 5000 mile trip on my fz6. I lost power when my front sprocket nut came off. It sheared the threads. Luckily it happened in the parking lot of my motel. I will be calling shops in the morning and hope someone offers a solution to get me home.

Anyone have any advice? Can I get a mechanic to impact a nut into the stripped threads or something? Any advice is appreciated!

You have any motorcycle trip insurance or free towing? You can always rent a very small U-haul one-way and put your bike in it. Just go to Home Depot and buy a few crank straps for $10.

If the sprocket drive shaft is toast, disconnect the battery & ECU.

Then have a welder, MIG WELD the sprocket to the shaft.

**Keep the seal behind the sprocket cool with a wet rag..
