Steering Head Bearing change and fork oil change, easy

Just to let you guys know. Followed BD43's excellent instructions on http://www.600riders.com/forum/how-tos/14722-how-replace-your-head-bearings.html and even better info from Haynes manual and renewed my steering head bearing and renewed fork oil in 3-4 hours. Fork oil was most probably original (4 years old) and pretty sludgy but no metal particles found. There was no need to remove fairing at all. bike rides way more smoothly now with new bearing although i am not such an expert to feel the difference due to oil change but am sure it is better and healthier for the bike.
 
I also used BD's instructions for the All BAlls this weekend. Totally helpful.

I also couldn't comment on how much better the bearing feel because I rode the bike for five minutes (after the bearing change) in the last 8 months........:mad:
