So my nephew armor-alled my seat today ....

I had stopped by for supper as i am all alone out here in BC, pulled into their garage. The nephew a very helpful little boy helped me wipe some crude off of my bike. I go upstairs and he proceeded to do the seat, my windshield and a variety of other parts. Caught him before he did my tires.

Adds an extra level of fun sliding around, and btw very hard to get off once it is on a seat.

Cute - how old is he? Did he expect payment for cleaning your bike? ;)

he is 7 and there was no discussion of payment. When i came downstairs he announced that he was "cleaning" my bike for me because it is very nice and i work to much to clean it.

it was all good, my wife (back in SK) thought it was hilarious

I leather conditioned my Corbin seat so my leather pants would slide on it easier. Unfortunately, when I took my wife for a ride later that week she almost shot of the back and sides. Needless to say she was not a happy camper. :spank:

One better, back in high school my girlfriend armor alled the gas, brake, and clutch peddles of my car..... that was interesting......

I wouldn't use thinner. Mix up a 50/50 solution of water and simple green and apply generously.

LOL that's funny, but an easy mistake if he's unfamiliar with armor all. Better than on your grips I guess.

I personally would stay away from alcohol or other solvents. They could dry the material and cause cracking or other deterioration.

If it happened to me, I would use soap, water, and elbow grease. Look at how nicely the car wash takes armor all off your tires.

We're going to try another solution. My wife's pilates instructor uses this shelf liner on his equipment that's kind of like black ace bandage wrap to keep his clients from sliding around. You can stick it to leather and vinyl but it's not permanent and will peel right off when not in use. We'll try that later today and report back. I like being able to slip around in the corners to get my fat butt from side to side. :D
