Season start?

My season never ends, because Louisiana weather is similar to Florida weather which is semi-tropic.and since I bought my bike without a loan. I put liability on it which is $187 a year vs $1,800 a year for full coverage.so needless to say you won't catch me stunt ridin on it!!!!!!............................LOL

It is compulsory if you have a loan for the bike Dave.My policy is $361 for the year(QBE),who are you with ?

Ahh, I bought mine outright, so didn't have that conversation with them!!!

Who am I with??? Umm, the Yamaha World guys set it up when I bought it, think they use Swann Insurance. Might go have a look at QBE, but I remember someone saying they had trouble with them when trying to claim something a few years back??

I'll check it out.

:)

It's really hard to say here, because the worst we get is heavy rain/hail at 40 degrees and it changes month every year.
This past season it barely rained before February, now it's raining all the time!

The OP has a good point. I suppose the insurances would be smart to double or triple the insurance if we ride in the winter but we're lucky like that. As far as I know they pro rate it exactly for the days you tell them you want to be insured. I, and a lot of my friends, keep the insurance year round, so I ride whenever I can. I rode up until right before Christmas but then couldn't even think of riding until about a week ago because the roads were ugly. It makes no sense, but I could actually take my bike out in a snow storm, legally, and be insured. Hmmm, maybe I'll try that.

SoCal only has one season, ridin' season!

I will admit my bikes been in the garage about 10 days so far this month because of rain. When you have over 300 days of non-rainy days, why fight the idiot drivers in the rain (plus I hate the clean up!)

Normaill I wouldn't brag but I have to get something for my sunshine tax :cheer:

The season never ended, going on 7 years straight. I love Florida. Plus its another state where insurance isn't required unless you ride without a helmet, or have a loan against it.

Florida has always had some interesting rules... you can ride with out a helmet but you have to have insurance... interesting :D

Good idea for a post mate,

We are lucky enough in the south east to have reasonable weather all year round.
I try to ride all year round.

Yeah to ride without a helmet you have to be over 21 and have "Health" insurance, not motorcycle insurance. They did this as a way to keep taxpayers from paying for the medical injuries from a wreck without one. Although we all know what generally happens when you wreck without a helmet.

Im sorry to say :( , our season here in Oz never end's :cheer:....happy days all year round ....Im so sorry for you people that have to pack up for months on end , i dont know how you guys and gals do it :don'tknow:

Believe you me,- the urge is BAD now!!! (226 hours : 11 minutes : 18 seconds left)

Battery goes in first weekend in Spring. Will wait for a few good rains to wash the salt and other crap off the roads thereafter. Very cold Winter this year, lots of potholes - this could delay start as well.

I rang my insurance and asked how much it would be for 2009 and they quoted me more expensive than 2008.
I said that cannot be right I have ridden a another year without a claim.
"Ah but there has been a 4% rise in the insurance"
"So what, when does my insurance start to decrease?"
"Well it should have been last year"
"What do you mean ...Should have?"
"Well it should have but it appears we didn`t deduct it. I will call you back"

A bit later on............

"I have corrected our error and your quote is now a third less than what I told you to begin with"

RESULT............................

It is worth checking your insurance to make sure they are getting it right.

FZ6SA....you know 1st of Mach could be like last weekend....snow....snow....snow. In fact May 1st could be the same as well.
