Scorpion EXO-1000 Review

Well rats. I was hoping for a supercool helmet, but I was worried it would wiegh to much, and it does. Kinda dissapointing.

I remember in the 90's when they had basketball shoes called, "PUMPS." You could press a circular cushion to inflate air into the shoes for a better fit, while slightly increasing your overall height at the same time.
Great idea, except the pump mechanism added excess weight to the shoe in the first place. Nike scratched the pump idea and decided to add liners that are automatically filled with air.
Today, Nike still makes shoes with liners that have a fixed amount of air in them. Professional basketball players use them all the time. We have airbags in cars that save us when we crash. Air, air, air….

I'm glad I did not read that review before I purchased my exo1000. I agree that the sizing is a bit odd, I usually take a L but require a XL for this helmet. The air bladder does let me tweak the helmet fit which I find helpful when I am wearing a balaclava in cold weather.
I love the internal sunscreen. It works great and I don't know how I got along without it. Its great not having to carry a separate pair of sunglasses.
Regarding airflow, I find the airflow fantastic. It flows so much air that, on the first day I was using it, I kept reaching up to close the shield only to find the shield already closed.
My only compliant is the fog-free face shield. Its not any less fog resistant than my cheaper Exo400. In cool weather, say 50 F. or less, I have to keep the face shield cracked open a bit or it fogs up pretty bad.
Overall, this is a great helmet and I highly recommend it.
