Rust on my '08 WTF???

The bottom line is that my bike is only six months old. (I saw the mechanics unload the box off the truck and watched them pull the first pieces of my bike out of it before they assembled it.)
This rusting is unusual and I didn't know what was causing it before the guys on here told me some possible reasons.
I understand that bikes rust after time and that they have to be maintained. BUT in my case the rust has appeared rapidly in a short period of time. Even if I had parked my bike outside with absolutely no cover at all I would still expect it to take longer to rust.
I am planning on calling the dealership where I purchased my bike (tomorrow on monday) and asking them if they will fix or replace my exhaust. I'll post back and let everybody know what they tell me.

As expected, Yamaha is giving me the cold shoulder and saying that this is my fault due to "lack of maintenance". I've always had a positive experience with Yamaha so I'm not going to let this change my opinion of the overall company.
SideNote: They weren't even aware of my mods when they decided that this wasn't covered by warranty.
