Rim Job

Ummmm... you sure it was mine? I have stock exhaust. Was the pic of a red or a silver FZ? The red one is in pieces in my garage atm.

There is a guy who goes to Tues Night Coffee that has a Scorp exhaust on his FZ. You would be able to hear that if you wanna show up next Tues.

I saw yours, I did not see an exhaust but i guess I assumed when i saw this:

Which means we should have almost identical bikes, although yours might be cleaner than mine, not sure if dirts a mod though.....

The curved ones are made to match your rim diameter. If I remember right four sections make up one side of a rim. I had to trim the end of the last strip on each side to it them to but up to the start point but that was all the trimming required.

I don't care for rim strips usually but the ones on this bike are freakin awesome. Wish I could find some. They just look right.

I got the 7mm stripes in a roll of tape. It was real easy to put on with the little tape dispensing tool that came with it. I couldn't find an exact color match for my cobalt blue FZ but I got the blue tape and it looks pretty good. Click on the little picture under my name and you can see what it looks like.

im gonna be fitting mine tomorrow..i bought 6mm and as im sticking with the black look i bought black strips..but they reflect bright silver/white in the dark.

i just stole these pics from another thread..this was the inspiration for me getting mine..(hope you dont mind SANGER )

I really like the look of a couple of the bikes with "Rim trim" and being in Holland (with lots of cyclists) I know how much extra visability these things provide at night.
I'm only worried about the stickers getting tatty and coming loose after a while, especially when chain oil gets sprayed on the back wheel (while riding)and all the anti corrosive sprays I use on my bike (I ride most of the winter). I'm also worried about cleaning my bike as I don't think I could use the anti grease cleaning agents that I occasionally use on the back wheel.

Do any of you guys have any personal experiences, comments or tips about these matters?

Loool. No problem at all mate as long as I get the props!

As I said in my post, I ordered 11mm and they were a bit too wide. not a problem, but there were edges that couldn't go completely flat and so they probably won't last as long as they could.

You're gonna have to change them every 2 years or so anyway so it's not a major problem. Next time I will see if I can get any 10mm ones, otherwise it'll be 8mm. I use paraffin to clean the chain gunk off my wheel every couple of weeks so that'll reduce the life a bit more too.

I have these on my 04. Got them from Justan graffix. I like them because I don't think there are many that look good on silver rims, but these seem to fit. They come already curved and were pretty easy to install.

Precurved blue, but I'm not sure of the width. I think thinner is probably better though. Sorry the pic is a bit blurry.

Alright, so I finally got my new bar ends from the same guy you mention above on eBay (great eBayer by the way). I like the look (especially since mine were scuffed up by the previous owner), even though they are a bit smaller and lighter. They aren't as light as some bar ends I've seen, but not as heavy as stock. I do feel a bit more vibration, but not enough to bug me for my commutes. I say go for them if you haven't already!

So the pics show my new bar ends, my new Pazzo's and just a shot of my bike with all my stuff on it...
