HONDA ATC90: THE FIRST MODERN ATV

My dad owned the advertising agency for Honda in Australia. In 1968 or 9 Tak came to Australia and to Broadford for a race day BBQ
Honda brought an Amigo50 to the day and Tak taught me to ride- my very first riding experience. I am honoured to have bern introduced to motorcycling by such an icon!

I remember those, very popular and about bullet proof!

Three wheelers have been "outlawed" here in the states, I don't know about elsewhere..

I found a Yamaha 225 3 wheeler I bought as junk (for cheap), fixed and ran that for awhile, what a blast!!!

Here is a photo of me in my BMW Isetta. Taken in Stratford upon Avon in the Summer of 1972. I paid £60 for her, ran her for 18 months and sold her for £40. 300cc single cylinder, long stroke engine. 50mph was both top speed and cruising speed. As you can see the front opened to get in or out and the steering wheel was hinged. Death trap really when I think of it now. But when your'e young, who cares.

There was a fuel on/off switch at the back of the bench seat. I had a problem, at one time with the ignition switch, which wouldn't turn off, so I had to switch the fuel off when I parked and wait for the engine to stop! Came with a sunroof though. Those were the days! Worth a small fortune now.

A small fortune indeed. We all have that one vehicle that we wish we still had, however we do still have the memories and from personal experience, those experiences improve with age like a fine wine.
