Anyone ever just replace the stock brake light bulb with a LED light bulb (not changing the whole housing, just the bulb)? If so what kind of LED bulb did you get and are you happy with it?

I tried this. Motogiro was extremely nice to send me his old bulb actually, thanks again :thumbup: The result was not really what i had in mind and didnt even look similar to the bright led panel look. Go with the actual stuff if u ask me.

You have to use a Tower type high power bulb (in red only) for it to be brighter than stock. IMO if it's not brighter than stock it's pointless.

Except that if it's equal brightness then you have the advantage of higher mechanical stability, lower current draw and generally much longer life.![]()

So is SMD better to get or the bay/t ones? How many need to point out and how many to the side using the stock taillight assembly?SMD bulbs are so much brighter...has anyone replaced theirs with one of these bad boys yet?
